About Me

Favorite food- Must I pick one? Post-marathon it’s chocolate cake donuts with vanilla frosting and sprinkles. Cheeseburger and onion rings are a close second.

Favorite color- the bright peachy pink color of the sky right before the sun pops up over the Rocky Mountains in the morning.

Favorite band- U2. Our daughters’ names are U2 inspired. But I love just about everything.

Favorite song- It changes daily. That’s why there’s a “Song of the Week” section on my site. “All I Want is You” is our wedding song, so I should probably pick that.

Favorite album- Achtung Baby. So many late night fights, I mean discussions, with my fellow U2 lovers about why it’s better than Joshua Tree. It just is. And this is my site, so there.

Favorite T.V. show- Call the Midwife.  House of Cards. And Golden Girls. Try to figure that one out.

Favorite movie- I’m not a movie buff.  I love the Star Wars movies since it’s a family tradition to watch them on Christmas Day.  I love a good documentary.  There’s something about The Devil Wears Prada. Why is it that every time it’s on t.v. I stop and watch?

Favorite book- It’s a three-way tie between All the Light They Cannot See, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Nightingale.

Favorite item of running apparel- Loving my Asics Abby shorts. I wore running skirts for so long, and I still wear them from time to time. But the Abby shorts are so light and airy and my BRF (best running friend) says I look like a real runner in them. Keeping it real.

Favorite race I’ve run outside of Utah- Hands down the Berlin Marathon. I know I’m supposed to say Boston, but the runners in Berlin were so happy! Even the fast runners were out having such a good time. I got chills every time we ran over the spots the Berlin Wall used to be. And finishing at the Brandenburg Gate- priceless.

Favorite Utah race- No question, Top of Utah Marathon. It was the second marathon I ever ran and the only one I’ve run every single year since I started running. Beautiful fall race. Great organization. Fabulous moose trophies. Need I say more?

First marathon- 2008 Salt Lake City 3:40:05

First marathon. Yep! That's a fanny pack. So much to learn.

Marathon PR: St. George 2013- 2:51

Race I’m most proud of: Winning and setting the female course record at the 2013 SoJo Marathon with a finish time of 2:56. It wasn’t my fastest time, but that course is stinking HARD!!! A few huge hills, lots of rolling terrain. Runs by my house at mile 18. Cruel.  Coming in second would be setting the Master’s Female course record at the Top of Utah Marathon with a time of 3:06 in 2016.

Winning my first SoJo Marathon. Set the female course record with a 2:56.

Hobbies- Besides running, of course. Reading. Writing. Traveling. Eating what my youngest daughter bakes.

Classic. My friend Elfi and I obviously NOT enjoying life post-race. Keeping it real.

Career highlights- Seeing two of my articles published in Runner’s World Magazine. Just cool. Being selected as a 2015 Luna Sponsored Athlete.

Favorite place to run- Daybreak Lake with my BRFs Shelly and Tyler. I love it so much I ran my 40th marathon on my 40th birthday here. Seven loops around the lake with friends and family joining in, my own aid station stocked with Diet Sunkist, donuts, Swedish Fish, ice, and music!

Favorite random things- Diet Sunkist, mornings, teaching spin class, Ruth’s Diner, Scrabble, baths with a good book, watching my daughter play volleyball, fall, laying out at the pool with my youngest, riding bikes (and NOT crashing) with my BRF Shelly, and hotels with running paths close by (and free breakfast).
